At the age of 39, the defenseman of EHC Winterthur has decided to hang up his skates at the end of the season.

Reto Kobach will retire at the end of the season.

"Reto is a true professional," EHCW's coach and team manager Michel Zeiter says. "He is a great team player with a lot of heart, passion and character." A passion for hockey that Kobach has shown in the jerseys of EV Zug, HC Ambrì-Piotta, SC Bern, as well as for the SCL Tigers and EHC Kloten in Switzerland's highest league.

For the past four years, Reto Kobach has played in the Swiss league. First for EHC Olten and now, since 2017, for EHC Winterthur. Since 2018 he leads the team as their captain.

At this point in time, Kobach has suited up in a total of 759 games in the National League (23 goals, 67 assists) and 190 games in the Swiss League (17 goals, 29 assists).
