Yesterday, with the 7-3 defeat against HC Ajoie in game-5 of the playoff quarterfinals, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds has been eliminated from the championship race. With that, Alain Miéville played the last game of his professional career. As a matter of fact, after 905 games (595 points) between the National League and the Swiss League, Miéville will hang up his skates and move on. He recently told Le Matin that he would like to remain in the world of hockey, having already taken part in courses to become a coach.
A product of the HC Fribourg-Gottéron's organization, Miéville spent most of his career with three teams: Lausanne HC, EHC Biel, and HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. He also spent two seasons with Ambrì and suited up a handful of times with the Dragons at the beginning of his career. Overall, he won four titles in the Swiss League, two each with EHCB and LHC. With the Seeländers, Miéville also conquered the promotion to the National League in 2008.
