"The current limitation to two import players will remain. All the clubs belonging to this league agree on this," Olivier Calame, president of HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, tells Arcinfo but adds that they might consider additional permits for foreign-born players under the age of 23. "But nothing has been decided yet."

The Swiss League, like the National League, has decided to become independent from the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation and founded its own limited company. The Swiss League will have their founding assembly tomorrow.

The new board of directors will consist of six members, two from each region. According to Arcinfo, Olivier Calame and Patrick Hauert, president of HC Ajoie, will likely represent the teams from the Romandie in the Swiss League.
