That Chris McSorley and other private investors want to build an arena with room for 7,000 spectators and lead HC Sierre to the National League sounds good to Pierre Berthod, president of the municipality: "This flatters us and it would be a mistake not to seize the opportunity presented to us," he says to Le Nouvelliste.

Nevertheless, Berthod wants to tread cautiously: "We must keep our feet on the ground," he explains. "We must ensure that the objectives and needs of all the parties represented are respected."

For the municipality of Sierre, this means that they can also make use of the new infrastructure: "The City's objective is to guarantee the use of this infrastructure for schools, youth development in hockey and for other clubs." Negotiations between the parties involved are underway.
