The 28-year-old forward has represented Norway in three World Championships and in the Olympic Games of 2014 in Sochi. As team manager Loïc Burkhalter explains, he has tried to bring Olden to La Chaux-de-Fonds for several years: "He is a creative player with a good hockey sense and strong technical skills."

Sondre Olden has been picked in the third round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, but has never played in North America. He has played in Norway, but also in Sweden, Croatia, and Austria. Last, he has been under contract with the Sheffield Steelers.
