Five years after their last success, HC Ajoie becomes Swiss League champion again, thanks to the goal scored by Mathias Joggi in the overtime of Game 6. Ajoie succeeds SC Langenthal, which had won the title two years ago, while last year's playoffs were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This victory opens the doors of the National League to HC Ajoie, who despite today's controversy regarding their inability to pursue the promotion, would actually appear to be in a position to join the elite of Swiss ice hockey, meaning that the next championship would see 13 teams participating in it. HC Ajoie returns to the top league after 28 years.
