Maxime Montandon will see his contract with HC Sierre run out at the end of this season. As La Liberté writes, the defenseman has been offered an extension, so sticking around will remain an option. But there are also other possibilities, as he has been in contact with some National League teams - nothing concrete has come of that yet however.
"The prospect of a second promotion here and continuing in the same role in the National League would be very interesting. All the more so as I appreciate the stability that I have found in Sierre alongside my brother", Montandon states in regards to staying with his current team.
Signing with one of the two main promotion favorites, EHC Olten and EHC Kloten, would not be part of his plans, the 27-year-old mentions. Moving somewhere closer to Pfeffingen in the canton of Basel, however, would be an option - his partner, volleyball national team member Méline Pierret, plays for the local team there.
