EHC Winterthur has found a replacement for their injured forward Matt Wilkins. Atte Karppinen, 23, will stay for the remainder of the season.

Team manager Mario Antonelli has finally found the reinforcement he has been looking for. "Karppinen is a forward with a strong hockey IQ. He also has a good shot," Antonelli says. "We are hoping for good impulses from him in the offensive and definitely one or the other scoring point."

The 23-year-old Atte Karppinen has played for three different teams in the past two seasons. For Iisalmen Peli-Karhut (IPK) in Finland's second-highest league as well as for the Black Wings Linz in Austria and, most recently, for HK32 Liptovsky Mikulas in Slovakia.
