There have been reports since December 2021 that Yves Sarault would be the successor of Dany Gélinas, but HC Sierre always made clear that they would not announce their new head coach before the end of their season.
Sarault was coaching in Lausanne for several seasons, before he became the head coach of EHC Visp in January 2021 for three months. A year later, Sarault replaced Jason O'Leary as the SCL Tigers' head coach.
