EHC Basel has announced the signing of their first import. From Italian ICEHL-Club HC Pustertal, Jakob Stukel is set to join the recently-promoted Swiss League team.

"Jakob is a young, hungry, and very fast striker with very good finishing abilities", team manager Olivier Schäublin comments the signing.

Stukel made 52 games for Pustertal last season, recording 21 goals and 20 assists. Prior to Italy, the 2016-sixth-round draft pick by the Vancouver Canucks mostly spent his career in the AHL and the ECHL.
