Despite being forced to retire due to injuries, the Austrian is still working with his team - as skill coach.

HC La Chaux-de-Fonds

Six games into the 2022-23 season, Stefan Ulmer suffered a hip injury. In December, after a consultation with doctors, he gave up on the idea of a comeback. "I knew that after hip surgery, I had little chance of returning", the Austrian tells the Journal de Jura.

Instead, Ulmer has agreed to help out his club HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in a different way. For the remainder of the season, the 32-year-old will be working with the other players as skill coach.

Born in Dornbirn, Ulmer will return to the Rhine Valley with his family next year. There, he should be able to take on a coaching position.
