The 27-year-old forward, who has been out since mid-November due to a hand injury, will thus stay with the Ajoulots at least until the end of the 2017-18 season. Schmidt also underwent an MRI today and has been given the go-ahead by the medical staff.
He will thus join team practice tomorrow. It is not yet clear, if he will be able to play in Tuesday's game, though. This will be decided after morning practice.
