The 29-year-old is originally a product of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers' youth organisation. He joined EHC Winterthur nine years ago as a player and became assistant coach as of the 2013-14 season. The former forward served behind the Lions' bench ever since. However, Büsser will now return to his former club as head of scouting with a pensum of 25 percent.
