With the bankruptcy of Martigny Red Ice, a spot in the NLB might become available for another team. According to Le Matin, GSHC wishes to fill this vacant spot with their farm team. Apparently, the Eagles are now waiting to see if HC Sierre is willing to be promoted to the NLB and serve as their NLB affiliate from here on out.
Should Sierre agree with the Grenats' idea, GSHC would then try to convince the representatives of the National League teams at their assembly next Tuesday (June 20) to let Sierre join the NLB for the 2017-18 season.
