Martigny had been declared bankrupt last week and has time until Friday to appeal the court's decision. According to the newspaper, the club has now assembled almost CHF 700,000 (they have to pay CHF 900,000 to cover their first-ranked debts).

But it takes more than money to successfully appeal the verdict. They will also have to present a solid plan for the club's future to the judge. The president of HC Sion, Steve Vergères, had confirmed to the same source yesterday that he is indeed in advanced talks with Red Ice. As Le Nouvelliste writes today, if they were to find an agreement, he would become a shareholder of the NLB team.
