As the club informs in a press release, they have to give up: "A professional and thorough analysis carried out by a trustee revealed that the amounts necessary for the rescue were far superior to what could be gathered in a few days." As a consequence, Martigny Red Ice will not be able to play in the Swiss League next season; the league will be played with only eleven teams.

Although the people around former president Patrick Polli were not able to save the club, they nevertheless decided to continue discussions to quickly realize "a long-term project for professional hockey in the French-speaking Valais".
