As anticipated by Blick, the New Jersey Devils (and with that Nico Hischier and Mirco Müller) will play an exhibition game against SC Bern in the PostFinance Arena on October 1.

The NHL announced in January that the Devils would play a game in Switzerland but did not disclose the team they would face. However, given that first overall pick Nico Hischier played in Bern before he went overseas, it seemed logical that the Devils would host their exhibition game in Bern. Tickets will go on sale on March 12.

The game is part of the NHL Global Series Challenge, which will also see the Edmonton Oilers face the Kölner Haie in Cologne, Germany. After that, the Devils, the Oilers, the Winnipeg Jets and Florida Panthers will open the new season in Sweden and Finland.
