As expected, no Swiss player was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft last night. However, some will likely get drafted this afternoon.

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was, as anticipated, drafted first overall by the Buffalo Sabres. The Carolina Hurricanes went for the Barrie Colts' (OHL) winger Andrei Svechnikov. The Montreal Canadiens, for their part, selected Finnish forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi (Porin Ässät). The rest of the first-round picks can be found here.

The 2nd Round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft will start this afternoon at 5 PM CET. There are a couple of Swiss players who might get drafted this afternoon, among them Nando Eggenberger (HC Davos), Nico Gross (Oshawa Generals, EVZ), and Philipp Kurashev (Québec Remparts).
