Rödin would have had one year left on his deal with Davos, but apparently, he was in possession of an NHL out clause. Rödin joined Davos in late-November, after clearing unconditional waivers. He had been part of the Vancouver Canucks' organization but injuries kept him out of the lineup for a lot of his time there.
He only appeared in eight regular-season games for Davos last season, as he suffered a fibula fracture only two weeks after signing with the National League team. He then returned for the playoffs, recording three goals and four assists in six games.
