Siegenthaler had been close to making the team in October but he was eventually sent down to the AHL. Yesterday, he got the opportunity to play for the Caps in the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“I’ve dreamed about this all my life, and I’ve never felt this happy in my life,” Siegenthaler told the Washington Post ahead of the game. “It’s something really special for me. I worked hard to get here, and yeah, it’s so special I can’t really describe it.”

The defenseman played a total of 12:13 minutes, delivered three hits and blocked two shots. The Caps lost the game against the Blue Jackets with 2-1.
