Patrik Laine signs new deal with the Jets, leaves Bern for Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they have agreed to terms with Patrik Laine on a new two-year $13.5 million contract.

The 21-year-old Finnish winger, who kept in shape with SC Bern in the past two weeks during contract negotiations, will thus leave Switzerland's capital city again to continue his career in the NHL.

Last season, the Winnipeg Jets 2016 first round draft pick managed to put up 33 goals and 21 assists in a total of 88 National Hockey League games with them.
