As his agent André Rufener tells Rick Dhaliwal (TSN 1040/ The Athletic), European teams have called him about Sven Bärtschi, but "the discussions are short. Sven wants to play in NHL, whether it ’s Vancouver or not, he will be ready.”
The Swiss forward missed the majority of the 2018-19 season due to a concussion and only got to play in six NHL games for the Canucks this season. He has, however, done well in the NHL. "Sven proved everyone wrong about his health, he had no issues whatsoever with concussions," Rufener states. "Sven is in good mental and physical shape and he can still help out an NHL team."
Rufener already asked the Canucks to move his client this season. They tried, but, as general manager Jim Benning told the media after the trade deadline, the teams which he had been in talks with had found other solutions come the deadline.
