Under the current circumstances, the defenseman does not know where he might be heading.

Yannick Weber did not get re-signed by the Nashville Predators but wants to keep playing overseas. Where he will be heading is not yet clear though. The current situation in the NHL is not the best, with players signing for notably less money than in recent years. "The uncertainty, not really knowing what the future holds, it would be tough on anybody," he tells Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

When the NHL's free agency started, Weber was working out on the ice. "I didn’t want to be on the phone all day, not knowing what’s going to happen," the defenseman states. "I know I'm not the only guy in that situation, but it's mentally tough to deal with. You start to think, 'Did I play my last game?'"

The 32-year-old also mentions that he had to change his game when joining Nashville from Vancouver to be in the lineup. "That’s what I have to do. I understand my market value. I’m not a player who can pick and choose, or say no to things."
