The NHL season will likely start soon. Pius Suter will thus also soon make its way over to Chicago, the Tages-Anzeiger reports.

The ZSC Lions' team manager Sven Leuenberger hopes that Suter will still be available to them for the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup semifinal on Sunday. Suter has suited up in six games for ZSC, recording two goals and three assists.

As for the NHL in general, it looks like they are getting closer to a game plan. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedmann learned yesterday that the NHL and NHLPA have reached a tentative deal on a 56-game season. Both parties have, however, to ratify the deal before it is set in place.

While the starting date is not yet official, it looks like it will still be January 13. No exhibition games would take place, the teams, which will be divided into four divisions, would go straight from training camp to regular-season games. The top four teams of each division will make the playoffs.

Suggested Divisions

Boston-Buffalo-New Jersey-NY Islanders-NY Rangers-Philadelphia-Pittsburgh-Washington

Carolina-Chicago-Columbus-Detroit-Florida-Dallas-Nashville-Tampa Bay

Anaheim-Arizona-Colorado-Minnesota-Los Angeles-Las Vegas-San Jose-St. Louis

Ottawa-Montreal-Toronto-Winnipeg-Edmonton-Calgary-Vancouver*

*The all Canadian Division is also still subject of discussion, as they might not get the go-ahead of the Canadian authorities. Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reported on Thursday that if that were the case, the NHL might move games of Canadian teams to the US.
