The Swiss-Russian forward, who is currently playing on loan with Lausanne HC, has not been invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs' training camp.

Already a few weeks ago, Lausanne's Director of Hockey Operations Petr Svoboda told 24 heures that the Maple Leafs would be "favorable" to the idea of extending the loan of Malgin. With the player not being part of the training camp roster, the signs are indeed pointing towards an extended stay in Switzerland.

In order to finish the season with LHC, the Toronto Maple Leafs would be required to send him through waivers, as they signed him to a one-year one-way deal at the end of October last year. During the 24-hour waiver window, however, Malgin could be picked up by another NHL team.
