Suter, whose one-year entry-level deal is set to expire at the end of this season, explained that he would like to re-sign with the Chicago Blackhawks: "I want to be back for sure. I'm confident we'll figure something out. Definitely want to see the United Center in full capacity," Chicago Sun-Times journalist Ben Pope reports.

In addition, according to The Athletic's senior writer Scott Powers, the 24-year-old forward also decided to not attend this year's World Championships with Switzerland due to his contract status.

In his very first NHL season, Suter has appeared in 52 games with the Blackhawks so far, recording 13 goals and ten assists for a total of 23 points.
