"It's a hell of a team here, a tough team, it's tough to crack the lineup," the Swiss forward stated in his media availability when asked about his chances with the Vegas Golden Knights. He also made clear that he wanted to show what he's got: "I played in the NHL, I played in the AHL, played both, but I always looked at myself as an NHL player."

When asked if he is also keen on wearing the Swiss jersey at the upcoming Olmpics in Bejing, Bärtschi said that he obviously did not hear anything about it yet, but that he would love to: "That's a dream, I think, for any hockey player, for any athlete really, to have an opportunity to play in the Olympics. (...) I would love to get that call."
