The Sabres announced today which restricted free agents have received qualifying offers from them, among them: Arttu Ruotsalainen.

Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reported last week that EHC Kloten and the Finnish forward had signed a two-year deal. He also mentioned, however, that while the two parties now are bound by a legal contract, Ruotsalainen would, of course, still be able to return to the NHL, as there is a transfer agreement in place.

Ruotsalainen was qualified and it will thus remain to be seen whether he will decide to play in Switzerland or come to an agreement with the Buffalo Sabres. In the last two seasons, he played 35 games for the Sabres and 59 games for their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.
