The Washington Capitals are apperently interested in keeping the rights of the two Swiss players, who will most likely stay in Switzerland.

As the Capitals announce on Twitter, they have extended qualifying offers to Damien Riat and Tobias Geisser. Both players are expected to play in Europe for the upcoming season.

After a short stint in the AHL, Damien Riat has returned to Switzerland as of last season. In 35 regular season games for Lausanne HC, the forward scored eleven goals and 17 assists.

As for Tobias Geisser, the defender played for the Capitals AHL-affiliate the Hershey Bears this past season, recording 11 assists and three goals in 71 games. Last month, he agreed to a three-year contract with EV Zug.
