"Thought Tim Berni had a real good game back there," coach Brad Larsen told The Columbus Dispatch. "We’re asking a lot of him. He’s going against (Evgeni) Malkin and Sidney Crosby pretty much every shift for his first NHL game. There’s some positives there, absolutely."
Berni had one shot on goal and played 13:39 minutes. He also caused goalie Elvis Merzlikins some work as he was whistled for a penalty shot. However, the Latvian denied Teddy Blueger's attempt.
