The first Swiss to be drafted in this year's draft was Rodwin Dionicio. He was selected in the fifth round (129th overall) by the Anaheim Ducks. The defenseman suited up for the Niagara IceDogs and the Windsor Spitfires this season.
The first to be chosen that plays in a Swiss junior league was, however, someone else: Czechian forward Jiří Felcman, who is part of the SCL Tigers' U20 team, was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks (93rd overall).
French-Swiss goaltender Antoine Keller was the last player from Switzerland to be selected: he was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 7th round (206th overall). Keller is part of Genève-Servette HC's organization and has played for their U20 team as well as on loan with HCV Martigny in the MyHockey League.
