As Joël Vermin tells syracuse.com, he has indeed agreed to a new deal in Switzerland as of next season. He would, however, prefer to stay in North America. A final decision will be made this summer.

This comes as no surprise, as his agent Georges Müller already announced in December that Vermin's focus remains the NHL, while also making clear that he would not sign with his former team, SC Bern, as of next season.

24 heures reported last week that the 24-year-old forward has signed a five-year deal with Lausanne HC. The deal includes an out clause for the NHL should he receive a one-way contract. It remains thus to be seen whether or not Vermin will receive such an offer this summer.
