"I am preparing to succeed in the NHL, that's my big goal," Bertschy says to La Liberté (relayed by SwissHabs). "I have one more year in Minnesota." Within the last couple of months, there have been some rumors that Bertschy could join the SC Bern again or Lausanne HC. Now it is clear that he will stay in North America for at least one more season.

This past season, the forward suited up in five games for the Minnesota Wild (one assist). However, Bertschy mostly played for their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, scoring eleven goals and 13 assists in 67 games.

Due to a knee injury, he missed this year's World Championship. "Patrick Fischer called me. But I played the last couple of games with pain and did not want to take any risk," Bertschy says to the newspaper. Fortunately, a surgery was not needed.
