The 22-year-old Müller was picked by the San Jose Sharks in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and has since then played in 54 NHL games for the Sharks between 2014 and 2017, posting two goals and four assists.

The Swiss defender has, however, spent most of the past seasons with the Sharks’ AHL affiliates, appearing in a total of 143 AHL games. Last season, Müller played in 62 games with the San Jose Barracuda, scoring two goals and 23 assists.
