The arbitration hearing for the 24-year-old forward had been scheduled for August 3 but they now found an agreement which was satisfying for both parties. "He's grown into his role as one of the offensive leaders of this group, and his shot and his net-front presence will continue to play a major role in our team's success," general manager Chuck Fletcher said.

The Swiss forward has been with the Wild since 2013. In a total of 359 games for the Wild thus far, Niederreiter has recorded 191 points (91 goals, 100 assists).
