Citing "credible sources", Svensson writes that Nygren turned down offers from the SHL, among them one from Färjestad BK, and has decided to extend his stint in Switzerland. Apparently, the 28-year-old defenseman has agreed on a contract extension with HC Davos which should be announced in the upcoming days.

About a week ago, hockeynews.se reported that HCD has offered Nygren a new two-year deal. The Swedish international would not confirm the offer at the time, but said that several teams in Switzerland were interested in his services.
