One of Zaugg's anonymous sources, who told him that Pestoni will move to the capital city next season, said that the 26-year-old is going to sign a two-year deal with the Bears. Another source said that he could not believe it either and that he has asked "at least twenty times, but it's true."
When Zaugg asked HC Davos' team manager Marc Gianola about a possible contract extension with Pestoni, Gianola replied that they are not negotiating during the Spengler Cup, followed by a "We will see".
A return to HC Ambrì-Piotta, however, seems to be more and more unlikely, according to Gianola: "For a long time I thought that he was going to Ambrì, too," he says to Zaugg. "But in the meantime Paolo Duca (HCAP's team manager) is no longer sure either."
Inti Pestoni is currently HCD's top scorer with 18 points (six goals) in 27 games. His contract in Davos is running out at the end of the season.
