According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, it is not sure if Kari Jalonen will start into his final contract year with SC Bern next fall in case he loses tonight's Game 7 of the semifinal series against EHC Biel. Apparently, there are already rumors circulating that several teams of the KHL have expressed their interest in the 59-year-old.

Kari Jalonen joined the Bears in 2016 and celebrated the Swiss championship in his first season. With now three seasons in Bern, he is the longest serving coach of the past 20 years in Switzerland's capital city. Only John van Boxmeer also served three years as SCB's coach from 2006 to 2009.
