According to Elite Prospects, Robert Mayer's contract in Geneva is only valid until the end of the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Will Robert Mayer leave the Grenats?

With Reto Berra having decided not to make use of his option for a contract extension with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, now another big name could appear on the market for the 2020-21 season: Genève-Servette HC's Robert Mayer. The 29-year-old will apparently test the market, as Elite Prospects has learned.

The decisions of Reto Berra and, reportedly, Robert Mayer to test the market might lead to a major shift on the goalie positions of various clubs. One club who will definitely have to look for a new goaltender is EHC Biel, as Jonas Hiller has announced that he is going to retire at the end of the upcoming season.
