Three players broke today their contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, namely goalie Juha Metsola (who signed a deal with EHC Kloten), defender Jyrki Jokipakka, and forward Miro Altonen. The latter, according to the Finnish newspaper, is likely to move to Switzerland for the 2022-23 season.

In the last six years, Aaltonen played in the KHL with the exception of the 2017-18 season, which he spent in Canada with the Toronto Marlies. Over the course of these five championships in the KHL, Aaltonen collected 175 points in 256 games, 42 of which (ten goals) in the last year with Vityaz Podolsk.
