The 35-year-old forward has a valid contract with Kärpät until 2019 with an out-clause which would allow Pyörälä to leave the team and sign with another team outside of the Liiga. Therefore, he might join the NLA as of next season.

This term, the Liiga's MVP appeared in a total of 62 games, in which he managed to put up 56 points (26 goals and 30 assists).
