Spengler Cup

Although the Lions already turned down an invitation to the Spengler Cup, a participation in the tournament is not out of the question.

For the regular season to stop over Christmas and New Year, HC Davos pays around CHF 800'000 per year to the other clubs. A solution that seems to be widely accepted. Even the ZSC Lions' CEO Peter Zahner would not want to threaten the Spengler Cup anymore: "The Spengler Cup is too important to be put at risk," he says to the SonntagsZeitung.

Even a return of the ZSC Lions to Davos over the Christmas break is no longer completely out of the question. Although the club turned down an invitation due to the additional games in the Champions Hockey League, Zahner does not exclude a future appearance at the Spengler Cup: "We would consider it."
