As usual, the champion of the Spengler Cup has been invited back for the next tournament to get the chance to defend the title. "La Montanara" might thus ring through the arena in Davos again next December in the 95th edition of the tournament.
"It will be a special honor for us to compete in the anniversary tournament and to try to defend the title," HC Ambrì-Piotta's president Filippo Lombardi is quoted in the press release. It will be their third appearance at the Spengler Cup.
Four of the six contestants for the next edition are thus already known: HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Ambrì-Piotta and Frölunda HC.
