The 21-year-old defenseman will replace HC Lugano's Elia Riva who is injured.

While Livio Stadler has suited up for Switzerland at the junior level, he will make his debut for the men's national team this week. The Swiss will play two games against Germany this week.

The defenseman has suited up in 29 games for EV Zug this season, recording five assists. He has also played two games for the EVZ Academy, putting up one goal and two assists.
