As Gaëtan Voisard, players' agent, tells Watson, his business partner Allain Roy is closing in on a deal for Akira Schmid with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Berner Zeitung reported earlier this week that the 18-year-old goaltender wanted a change of air in order to further his development. As he was drafted in the CHL Import Draft by Lethbridge, he will now get the opportunity to try and make an impact in the WHL.

They are looking for a two-year deal. The netminder still has two years left on his development contract with the Tigers, but team manager Marco Bayer already told the Berner Zeitung that they would accept any decision Schmid might make. They hope, however, that he will one day suit up for them in the National League.
