As Rossi's father confirms to the Vorarlberger Nachrichten, his son is going to leave the ZSC/GCK organisation: "ZSC always supported us, the organisation works in exemplary fashion," Michael Rossi says. Nevertheless, he thinks that making the move overseas is the right choice: "Marco will find ideal conditions in Ottawa."

Marco Rossi, 16, is deemed to be Austria's greatest talent and his decision can definitely be understood as a first step toward the NHL Entry Draft, to which he is eligible in two years from now.

In the past season, the young forward made his debut in the Swiss League with the GCK Lions. In addition to playing for their Elite-A, he appeared in 18 Swiss League games, in which he recorded seven points (four goals).
