"We are really excited about having Nando commit to our hockey club for next season," Generals' vice president and general manager Roger Hunt said on the signing. “He had a down year last season for his standards, but he will have a ton to prove to us and the NHL scouts next season.”
The 18-year-old was selected as the 33rd overall pick by the Generals in Thursday's CHL Import Draft. In Oshawa, Eggenberger will meet Nico Gross, a fellow Swiss forward, who got picked by the New York Rangers in the NHL Entry Draft and is expected to extend his stint in Oshawa for another year.
Eggenberger made his debut for HC Davos in the National League in the 2015-16 season. Last term, the youngster appeared in 41 games for HCD, in which he recorded a total of six points (three goals).
