“It was a complicated endeavour given CHL import rules, but we do our homework, we know the rules and we interpret the regulations, and we work at it, there are always solutions. This was a time-consuming and extensive process by not just us and Noah, but by the league,” president and general manager Trevor Georgie stated.

Patenaud is in possession of dual citizenship. This made it possible to circumvent the CHL's import player rules. First rumblings about the transaction surfaced a couple of days ago when Noah Patenaude's name showed up on the Sea Dogs' preseason roster. The QMJHL team now made the deal official. The goalie will join the team next week.
