After this season, the 19-year-old forward is no longer eligible to play in the QMJHL, but hopes to continue his career in North America.

Because he will be too old to continue to play in the QMJHL, the Québec Major Junior Hockey League, the former youth player of HC Fribourg-Gottéron will have to move on. "A couple of Swiss clubs have called me", he admits to La Liberté. As of next season, he will no longer have a contract in place with Gottéron.

A return to Switzerland is only his second-best option, Aebischer says: "If I will have the opportunity to join a team in the AHL, then I will take it." At this point, there is still time for the youngster to convince the scouts of the North American organizations and he knows it: "It is too early to talk about the future."
