In addition to Dionicio (Niagara IceDogs), also Austrian forward Vinzenz Rohrer (Ottawa 67's), who is a product of the ZSC/GCK youth department, is nominated for the rookie team.
The twelve nominated defenders as well as the 18 forwards (six each for center, left wing and right wing) have been voted for by the OHL's General Managers within their own conference. A total of two OHL All-Rookie Teams will be announced in a week, following a final round of voting.
In addition to the nominees for the All-Rookie Team, the OHL also announced the nominees for the All-Star Team. Among them are forwards Mason McTavish (Hamilton Bulldogs) and Brennan Othmann (Flint Firebirds), who played for EHC Olten in 2020-21.
